Clinical Hypnotherapy

Clinical hypnosis is a therapy which assists you to activate your inner resources in order to achieve your goals.

  • Hypnosis is simply a state of deep relaxation. You are NOT asleep; you are fully conscious throughout the process. It is a totally safe and natural state.
  • Whilst deeply relaxed, the subconscious mind becomes more dominant – that is that part of us that has to change if we wish to overcome obstacles and unhelpful behaviours.
  • Hypnosis cannot make you do anything you do not wish to do. You retain the ability to accept or reject any suggestions made to you, in line with your personal beliefs.
  • Anyone can experience hypnosis and can see changes and goals being achieved in a short number of sessions. However, hypnosis will only work for you if you want it to. You should never try to change to satisfy someone else in your life if you do not wish to achieve the same goal.

Clinical Hypnosis can be helpful for adults and children in a huge variety of situations. (See A-Z of Conditions)

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

CBT is based on the assumption that it is not events themselves that upset us, but the meanings we give to them. Our thoughts can block us seeing things that don’t fit in with what we believe to be true. In other words, we continue to hold on to the same old thoughts, and fail to see anything in a new light.

CBT is often helpful in cases of anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, OCD, trauma, panic, and relationship issues. It is also used effectively in the treatment of addictions and eating disorders.

Using CBT alone can result in therapy extending over a number of months. However, combining CBT with other therapies can result in fewer sessions being required with a focus on a positive future.

Energy Psychology

Energy Psychology is a therapy based on the understanding of how thoughts relate to energy fields within the body. It is a combination of body therapy and mind therapy and is an excellent tool for healing both physical and emotional problems.

You will be taught to treat yourself. It is simple, effective and fun!

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP is an interpersonal communication model used in both a business environment and a therapeutic setting. It looks at how we do things in order to achieve a model of excellence. It is valuable to enhance performance, remove obstacles and eliminate unhelpful patterns of behaviour.

NLP is a brief-therapy, which is often successfully combined with other therapies, such as hypnotherapy.

Stress Management

Pressures in our lives can cause stress when they become greater than our coping abilities. These pressures can be real or perceived. Not all stress is bad, but too much stress can make us ill.

Stress management involves the identification of the causes of your stress and the teaching of techniques to put you back in control.

Stress in the workplace is increasingly serious for both individuals (and their family and friends) and the organisation as a whole.

Claire also offers commercial stress management training courses.
